McKenzie Minnesota therapist

McKenzie has a Bachelor’s of Social Work from Southwest Minnesota State University, and a Master’s of Social Work with a specialization in Clinical Mental Health from the University of Minnesota. She is a Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW).

McKenzie started out working in Child Protection and Child Welfare. From there she ran an Adolescent Day Treatment program, but mostly has been working in communities as a Mental Health Practitioner providing services for people and families of all ages in their homes and communities.  

McKenzie loves learning, so she has many interests! She really enjoys working with people of all ages and from all different walks of life. She has special interest in co-occurring disorders, substance use treatment, mental health policy, neurodivergence, and Severe and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI). Mostly she is interested in making human connections that support the people we work with!

McKenzie’s therapeutic approach includes harm reduction, mindfulness, strengths-based, person-centered, inclusive therapy, person in environment. She enjoys meeting people where they are at and working together as a team to improve things. She believes human relationships and connections are crucial for mental health and necessary for the therapeutic process.

McKenzie will be seeing therapy clients in the New Prague office and over telehealth. She also provides ARMHS and CTSS in New Prague and Northfield as well.

McKenzie also has specialized training in assessing and diagnosing Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). She is part of our ASD team and provides assessments in our Northfield location.
