Jocelynn Klos, BA
Meet Jocelynn Klos, a Clinical Trainee Intern on the path to obtaining her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Studies from Grandview University in Des Moines, Iowa. With a background in social studies education, Jocelynn spent five years as a teacher, witnessing firsthand the pressing mental health needs of both youth and caregivers. This experience ignited her passion for mental health advocacy and led her to pursue a career in therapy.
Using person-centered psychotherapy, Jocelynn believes that every individual possesses the ability to write their own life story; they may just need a supportive and nurturing environment to facilitate their journey. To help facilitate this journey, Jocelynn uses Gestalt therapy techniques, guiding her clients to focus on the present moment as a means to regulate challenging emotions that come with life experiences.
As a certified yoga instructor, Jocelynn deeply values the connection between mind and body, recognizing the profound impact of mind-body alignment on mental well-being. She incorporates elements of yoga and mindfulness practices into her therapeutic approach, leveraging their benefits to foster holistic healing.
Jocelynn is particularly passionate about working with teens, young adults, LGBTQ+ populations, individuals with neurodivergences, and those exploring matters of religion and spirituality. With a warm and empathetic demeanor, she provides a safe and inclusive space for clients to explore their identities, navigate life’s challenges, and embark on their journey towards self-discovery and growth.
