Jessica Smith, MA, LMFT enjoys working with adults, families, and couples. Jessica uses an honest and validating approach to therapy to help clients identify their needs, develop communication and relationship skills, manage overwhelming feelings, and improve self-confidence.
Jessica helps people deal with difficult life transitions, as well as, those struggling with enduring mental health concerns. Jessica’s passion is to create a safe space for clients to unpack their challenges, and develop new skills to move forward. She believes that trust is essential in the therapeutic relationship in order for true change to happen and that people genuinely desire to make positive changes in their lives.
Jessica utilizes various therapeutic techniques and education to help each client create more effective strategies for living a full life. She has specialized training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Perinatal Mental Health.
Jessica has experience working with postpartum depression and anxiety, infertility, depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma & PTSD, personality disorders, self-esteem, grief, peer relationships, and family conflict.
Jessica earned her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Argosy University Twin Cities. She is a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family (AAMFT) and is a Board Approved Clinical Supervisor for the MN Board of Behavioral Health and MN Board of Marriage and Family Therapy.
