Gordon Culley, MA, is a dedicated therapist intern at Secure Base Counseling Center, where he began his journey in January 2025. He holds a Master’s degree in Addiction Counseling from the University of Minnesota, graduating in 2022, and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Social Work at Minnesota State University, Mankato, with an anticipated graduation in July 2025.

With eight years of experience in the mental health field, Gordon has worked extensively with individuals with Serious and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI) in residential settings. His experience includes working in Intensive Residential Treatment Services (IRTS), where he has helped individuals navigate various mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, and trauma. Additionally, he has provided support to individuals dealing with domestic abuse while working for Community Against Domestic Violence (CADA). Gordon has also delivered Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services (ARMHS) and Children’s Therapeutic Services and Supports (CTSS), working with children and adults in their homes to develop vital life skills.

Gordon’s therapeutic approach is informed by attachment theory, narrative therapy, and trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT). He is passionate about working with all age ranges and is particularly interested in supporting couples, families, and individuals. He is committed to inclusivity and actively supports the LGBTQ+ community, remaining open to working with clients across all diagnoses.

Gordon operates out of the Northfield office and is excited to contribute to the well-being of his clients through compassionate and effective therapeutic practices.

Outside of his professional role, Gordon enjoys engaging in community activities and values building meaningful connections with those he serves.
