Kayli Rivera is an MSW Intern Therapist with a strong foundation in community-based resource management and mental health support. She holds a BA in Human Services from Old Dominion University (2017) and is currently working towards her Master of Social Work degree at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, where she is set to graduate in the summer of 2025. Kayli’s diverse background includes her role as a Community Resource Specialist with 211, where she connected individuals and families with essential resources. She also completed an internship at Allina Health as an Adult Mental Health Inpatient Social Work Intern, gaining experience in coordinating care for individuals facing mental health and behavioral challenges. Additionally, she worked as a Victim Advocate at YWCA USA, supporting individuals navigating legal processes related to domestic violence and sexual violence.

Kayli is passionate about working with youth and young adults, especially those navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, and life transitions. She takes a strengths-based, person-centered approach to therapy, where she partners with clients to foster trust, empowerment, and positive change. By focusing on each individual’s unique strengths and experiences, Kayli helps clients build resilience and create meaningful changes in their lives. She integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and trauma-informed care techniques into her practice to help clients develop effective coping strategies. Kayli is also committed to creating an inclusive, respectful environment for all clients, offering culturally competent care and working with LGBTQIA+ individuals.

Kayli is interested in incorporating mindfulness, cognitive restructuring, and narrative therapy to help clients reframe their personal stories and create new, empowering meanings. Her approach is collaborative and aims to meet clients where they are in their journey, ensuring that therapy feels supportive, validating, and empowering. Kayli will be working in the Northfield and Farmington offices, offering evening hours during the week. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys reading, spending time with her family and friends, and caring for her golden retriever, Tucker. She values self-care and believes in maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Kayli’s passion for supporting youth and young adults drives her commitment to providing compassionate, client-centered care as she continues to grow as a therapist.
