Mental Health Therapy in American Sign Language

Secure Base Counseling Center is thrilled to offer mental health counseling in American Sign Language (ASL) to the Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing communities. This service is available via a confidential, HIPAA-compliant video platform. ASL therapy is available to people of all ages (as appropriate for telehealth) who reside in the state of Minnesota. SBCC is committed to providing culturally competent, accessible care to all clients.

    Are my sessions confidential?

    Yes! SBCC adheres to strict ethical guidelines to ensure your privacy and confidentiality are maintained throughout the therapeutic process. No other member of the D/DB/HH community will have access to your personal information except James.

    How long is a therapy session?

    Session length can be tailored to your needs, but will range from 45 minutes to 91 minutes in length. This depends on what is best for you clinically, along with insurance rules and other factors.

    Can I use an interpreter in my session if needed?

    Yes, interpreters can be made available if needed.

    I am unsure if therapy is right for me. Can I consult with James prior to starting services?
