Nou Chee Thao, BS

Nou Chee Thao is a graduate level intern at Secure Base Counseling Center and is working towards her master’s degree in Clinical Counseling at Capella University. Nou Chee has experience as a county mental health case manager working with adults diagnosed with severe or persistent mental illnesses. Nou Chee has experience working one on one with youth who are in special education at home and in a school based setting with children 2-5 and youth 11-14.
Nou Chee has an interest in working with BIPOC populations, adults, and youth. She gravitates towards a person-centered, strengths-based, collaborative approach to therapy because she believes in the inherent potential of every individual to grow and heal. She values supporting others through their struggles and is rooted in empathy and compassion, recognizing that everyone deserves the opportunity to live a fulfilled and balanced life. Nou Chee also believes in exploring challenges and developing the tools to overcome struggles, ultimately fostering a sense of empowerment and emotional well-being. This genuine desire to create a positive impact drives lasting change for the betterment of clients.
Outside of work, Nou Chee enjoys hiking, walking, binge-watching television, and spending time with family. She has a husband and two children.
