Sophia Brunstad

Sophia Brunstad, BSW, BA, is a clinical intern at Secure Base Counseling Center. She completed her bachelor’s degree in social work and family studies, with a minor in psychology, at the University of St. Thomas in May 2025. She is currently pursuing her Master’s in Social Work from the University of St. Thomas, with an anticipated graduation date of May 2026.

Sophia is committed to providing services to a diverse clientele, including children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Sophia uses a multifaceted approach, emphasizing a strengths-based perspective and attachment theory.

Before her current role, Sophia gained experience working with adolescents at a day treatment facility, where she specialized in developing individualized skill goals and plans. Additionally, she served as a paraprofessional, ensuring that children received appropriate support within and outside the classroom.

 

Outside of work and school, Sophia enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading, going to new coffee shops, and taking walks outside.
