Alex Bird, BS
Alex Bird, BS, is a graduate level Clinical Trainee Intern currently in the Clinical and Mental Health Counseling program at Liberty University. He has experience and interest working with families, couples, and individuals throughout their lifespans phases and transitions in life, helping people facing challenges with anxiety, mood, personality, and stress-related disorders.
During his previous positions as a skills worker and behavior therapist, he enjoyed using CBT and DBT techniques to assist with clients’ self-regulation, relationship building, crisis management, and problem solving. Although he plans to use Family Systems Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and CBT in therapy sessions, he will be using various approaches to meet the needs of his clients.
While working with Alex, you will find his desire to build a strong therapeutic relationship, through honesty and authenticity, while encouraging the process of their self discovery, healing, and growth. He defines his success as a therapist by creating an environment where his clients will feel strengthened, encouraged, respected, and safe. Alex is open-minded, flexible, adaptable, and patient to meet clients where they are.
You can find Alex in the Farmington and New Prague office locations. Relationships have always been an important aspect of Alex’s life. When he is not working, he enjoys being with his church community, and spending time with friends and family, playing sports, or board and card games.
