Aaron Minnesota therapist

Aaron Close, MA, LPCC, LADC earned his Master’s degree in 2018 from Hazelden Betty Ford Graduate School in the Integrated Recovery for Co-Occurring Disorders program, which centered on addressing mental health and substance use disorders. Aaron approaches therapy with the understanding that life is full of complexities and challenges and that no two individuals present with the exact same life circumstances or experiences.

Each person is unique and so therapy is customized to the individual needs of the client through a person-centered approach. In addition to a person-centered approach, Aaron has also utilized mindfulness, calming strategies, exploration of purpose and meaning, and consideration of internal narratives and messaging.

Through the process of therapy, Aaron works to create an environment where clients feel supported to explore, discuss, and consider approaches to foster well-being. Aaron has experience working with a range of diagnoses, including anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, bipolar disorders, borderline personality disorder, substance use disorders, posttraumatic stress disorder, and co-occurring disorders.

Aaron has a particular interest in the links between trauma and addiction. He is also a member of the Dialectical Behavioral Therapy team.

When Aaron is not working, he enjoys traveling, cooking, and reading.
