Casey Haffield
Casey’s approach to therapy is deeply rooted in a client-centered framework, informing her belief that clients are the experts on their own experiences.
A connector at her core, Casey believes that change occurs in the context of authentic and supportive relationships. She is honored to walk alongside clients as they seek to explore and create meaning in their lives, bringing authenticity, empathy, and humor into her work. She also utilizes a systems-oriented approach, understanding that relationships, family dynamics, social contexts, and culture all impact mental health and wellbeing. She strives to create a non-judgmental, warm, and affirming environment where clients feel truly seen and heard, and she’s mindful of fostering an anti-racist and LGBTQIA+ affirming space in her work. Through this supportive framework, Casey seeks to empower clients to make changes that feel valuable to them. She is committed to supporting individuals in navigating their personal challenges, fostering resilience, and discovering meaningful and authentic paths forward.
In addition to her humanistic roots, Casey’s therapeutic style is eclectic and draws from various approaches including Attachment Theory, Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), as well as strengths-based strategies and mindfulness practices.
Casey particularly enjoys working with adolescents and adults struggling with relationship concerns, anxiety, depression, life transitions, self-esteem issues, and grief. She is a Clinical Trainee in the Northfield office, providing both in-person and Telehealth services.
She received her Bachelor’s in Social Work from Creighton University and is finishing her Master’s in Counseling Psychology from the University of St. Thomas. Upon completion of her clinical rotation and graduation, she will pursue credentials as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPCC). She has a variety of experience across settings, including human services, childcare, hospice care, training, customer service, and program development.
She is inspired by the work of Dr. Brené Brown, Dr. Hillary McBride, and Esther Perel. Outside of work, Casey enjoys hiking, cooking, listening to podcasts, playing Bananagrams, and spending time with family and friends.
