Claire Berhow, BS

Claire Berhow is a master’s level clinical intern at Secure Base Counseling Center in Northfield, MN working towards becoming a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. Serving from a person-centered approach with an attachment and strengths based perspective, Claire believes that individuals can build towards the life they seek if given the tools and support they need. With a foundation of empathy and acceptance of the spectrum of human expression, Claire appreciates people coming to counseling with a willingness to explore the whole self – mind, body, and spirit. Through Prescott College’s online counseling masters program, she is obtaining adjunct training in Nature-Based counseling, Somatic modalities, as well as Marriage, Couples and Family therapy.

With her background as a paraprofessional in a public school, experience assisting folks in her work at apothecaries, as well as supporting people in their senior years, Claire appreciates the spectrum of life expressions, recognizing that each phase has its own challenges and joys. Acknowledging the impacts of generational strengths and struggles, Claire supports clients who wish to work on the patterns they feel they came into the world with while also exploring newly arising issues from the complexity of modern reality.

With a deep love for nature, most of Claire’s free time outside is spent with her son, engaging in mock battles and playing games and taking in the subtle majesty of the seasons. She also enjoys cuddling with her kitty, visiting with friends, and seeking new and interesting places, people, and experiences. She has a background in dance and engages in yoga and mindfulness, believing that engaging the physical body influences the inner self.
