Colleen brings a diverse professional background in healthcare and working with families involved in the family court system. Her healthcare experience has allowed her to work closely with individuals from diverse backgrounds, fostering an appreciation for compassionate care, active listening, and the connection between physical and emotional well-being. As a Minnesota Rule 114 Qualified ADR Neutral, she has experience helping families navigate divorce, custody and parenting-time disputes, co-parenting challenges, and complex family dynamics. These experiences have strengthened her ability to understand different perspectives, build trusting relationships, and support individuals and families through challenging life circumstances.

Colleen strives to create a warm, welcoming, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel comfortable being themselves and sharing their experiences. She believes that everyone deserves to feel heard, understood, and respected. Her developing therapeutic approach emphasizes empathy, genuine connection, and building a trusting therapeutic relationship. She is particularly interested in attachment theory, narrative therapy, and strengths-based approaches to help clients better understand themselves, explore relationship patterns, and recognize their strengths.

Colleen looks forward to working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Her areas of interest include relationship challenges, parenting and co-parenting concerns, divorce and separation, blended families, anxiety, and navigating life transitions. She believes that every individual and family has a unique story and values meeting clients where they are. As she develops her clinical skills, she looks forward to supporting clients in building healthier relationships, navigating challenges, and working toward meaningful change.

Outside of work and her studies, Colleen enjoys spending time with her blended family, grandchildren, and two beloved dogs. She values the special moments, connections, and adventures that come with family life.

Colleen is located at the New Prague office of Secure Base Counseling Center.
