Hamdi Kosar, BA

 Hannah Beumer

Hamdi Kosar works with individuals, couples, and families seeking healing, growth, and meaningful change. Whether you are navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, family conflict, life transitions, trauma, or cultural identity concerns, Hamdi strives to create a space where you feel understood, supported, and empowered.

Hamdi’s journey into this work is both professional and deeply personal. Born in a refugee camp in Kenya and later immigrating to the United States as a child, she learned early on about resilience, sacrifice, family, and the courage required to overcome adversity. These experiences shaped her belief that healing, growth, and transformation are possible, even in our most difficult moments. For over a decade, she has dedicated her career to serving individuals and families through some of life’s most challenging transitions. Throughout her work in family services, case management, and community support, she has walked alongside people experiencing homelessness, divorce, relationship conflict, mental health challenges, trauma, immigration, cultural adjustment, and major life changes. Repeatedly, she has witnessed the remarkable strength people possess when given the support and tools to move forward.

Hamdi earned her Bachelor’s degrees in Community Psychology and Communication Studies from Saint Cloud State University and is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Capella University. Her therapeutic approach is rooted in person-centered and family systems principles while incorporating narrative, strengths-based, and solution-focused therapies. She believes people are not defined by their struggles, diagnoses, or past experiences. Every person has a story, and every story deserves to be heard with compassion, curiosity, and respect. Together, we can explore the patterns that no longer serve you, build on your strengths, and create new possibilities for your future.

In addition to her clinical work, Hamdi is a published author and a First-Degree Black Belt. These experiences reinforced values that guide both her life and her work: discipline, perseverance, courage, and continuous growth. She is passionate about helping individuals gain confidence and clarity, helping couples strengthen connection and trust, and helping families create healthier patterns of communication and understanding. She believes meaningful change happens when people feel safe enough to be honest, brave enough to be vulnerable, and supported enough to grow. It is an honor to walk alongside clients as they heal old wounds, strengthen important relationships, and create lives that align with their values and goals. Because healing changes not just individuals, but also relationships, families, and generations.
