​Jane W. Murphy, LMFT

Jane Wagner Murphy, MA, LMFT, has had the honor of offering psychotherapy to individuals, couples, families, and groups for 21 years. She has a particular interest in working with children of all ages (from birth to adulthood) and their families to re-build strong, healthy bonds.

She also enjoys exploring the intellectual and spiritual aspects of personality and relationships with adults helping to co-create optimal mental health and well being for a wide diversity of clients.

Jane is trained and certified in play therapy, sand tray therapy, attachment therapy, thera-play, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

Jane earned her masters degree in Counseling Psychology at St. Mary’s University. She has been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Minnesota for 18 years. She has also been a MN Board-Approved and an AAMFT-approved Supervisor for 14 years. In addition to offering therapy, Jane supervises interns and clinical trainees at SBCC.

She is also engaged in the Minnesota Association for Marriage and Family Therapy serving as a member at large and committee chairperson. Outside of her work at SBCC, she enjoys spending time with her extended family, taking long walks with her dog, traveling, nature photography, reading, and listening to music.
