Karlie Schmidt earned her Bachelor’s degree at the University of Wisconsin-Stout and is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Malone University. Karlie believes in the value of a strong therapeutic relationship and aims to provide a warm, welcoming environment built on mutual trust and respect. Karlie welcomes clients from all backgrounds, including LGBTQ+ populations.

Karlie enjoys providing psychotherapy to adults and looks forward to working with children, adolescents, and adults at Secure Base Counseling Center. Karlie uses a strengths-based approach to encourage clients to acknowledge and celebrate their strengths while simultaneously creating a safe space for growth and development. Additionally, Karlie utilizes reframing techniques to assist clients in challenging their intrusive thoughts.

Karlie has experience with a range of mental health issues including depression, anxiety, trauma disorders, crisis management, substance use disorders, and schizophrenia. She has a particular interest in attachment styles and the impact relationships in early years have on individuals throughout their lives.

Outside of her work at Secure Base Counseling Center, Karlie enjoys movie marathons with her fiance, crafting, and spending quality time with family and friends. She also loves travelling, but always looks forward to going home to her kitty.
