Kelly has overcome a lot in her own story which has caused her to be filled with empathy, compassion, and grace for all types of people.

Kelly obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Metropolitan State University in 2015 and her Master’s degree in Counseling and Psychological Services from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota in 2020. Kelly has worked in juvenile probation, chemical dependency treatment, and in group homes, treating people with a variety of different backgrounds and diagnoses. Kelly prefers a rehabilitative approach. She has experience in doing family and individual therapy with kids and adults in school- based, in- home, and clinic settings. Kelly is one of only a handful of therapists in Minnesota who are intensely- trained in a newer type of therapy, Radically Open Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (RO- DBT), which treats disorders of “over- control.”

Kelly currently provides therapy services to kids (6+), adolescents, and adults. She has an energetic, gentle, and creative approach while offering talk therapy, play therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and RO- DBT. She is trauma- sensitive and person- centered. Kelly loves building relationships with her clients, while adding in humor and play, and does faith-based counseling to those who are interested!

Kelly loves animals and has two Siberian Husky dogs. In her free time, she likes to spend time with her family, and in nature- hiking, biking, kayaking, fishing and swimming! Kelly looks forward to meeting with you via telehealth or in the Northfield, MN office!
