Kristen Arden, BA

Kristen Minnesota therapist

Kristen Arden is a graduate level intern at Secure Base Counseling Center and is working towards her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy through Syracuse University. Kristen believes that no problem develops in a vacuum and that viewing relationships, issues, and dynamics from a systemic lens is an important foundation that can create new insight and understanding about issues clients are facing. She has found that when issues and problems are considered within a larger context it can create space for transformation and growth, individually and relationally.

She gravitates towards narrative and experiential approaches, as well as attachment theory and Emotionally Focused Therapy. She believes in a client-centered, collaborative, strengths-based approach to therapy, grounded in authenticity and trust. She enjoys working with all ages and has extensive experience with kids as a teacher of art and other subjects in her previous career. She welcomes clients from diverse backgrounds, families, and couples, and has special interest and connection working with the LGBTQ+ population.
