McKenzie Lockhart is currently a Clinical Intern at Secure Base Counseling Center, working towards becoming a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). She brings a wealth of experience from her previous role as a behavioral technician, where she worked primarily with young children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). McKenzie has a special interest in working with teens and adults who are navigating challenges such as generalized anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, eating disorders, and substance use disorders. She is passionate about supporting individuals who are exploring their gender identity (LGBTQ+) and those going through significant transitional periods, whether relational, housing, political, or otherwise.

In her work, McKenzie utilizes a person-centered therapeutic approach, empowering clients to be active participants in their own healing. She also incorporates Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) to help clients develop greater self-awareness and coping strategies. McKenzie provides therapy services at our Farmington location and via telehealth, offering flexible options to meet clients’ needs.

Outside of her professional life, McKenzie enjoys spending time with friends and family, including her puppy. Her hobbies include baking, golfing, and reading.
