Monica Sherman is a graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Sciences (2018) and a Master of Arts in Psychology (2022). She is currently pursuing her second graduate degree, a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Monica is a member of both the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and the National Society of Leadership and Success. Since 2025, she has been completing her practicum and internship at SBCC. 

Monica is passionate about meeting clients where they are and is open to working with individuals across a wide range of diagnoses. Her clinical experience includes working with borderline personality disorder, hoarding disorder, bipolar II disorder, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, depression, schizoaffective disorder, attention disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, and issues related to sexual orientation. She primarily uses a cognitive behavioral therapy approach to help clients build healthier thoughts, habits, and patterns, and she also draws from psychodynamic psychotherapy, humanistic therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, exposure therapy, existential therapy, and Adlerian therapy. 

Monica has worked with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds and at various stages of their mental health journeys. She has supported individuals in the community and those in intensive residential transitional services, with additional experience providing ARMHS services and working as a pediatric behavioral technician. Outside of her professional work, Monica enjoys spending time outdoors, reading, traveling, and being with her family.
