Nicole Koenig, MSW, LGSW

Minnesota mental health therapist at Secure Base Counseling Center

Nicole graduated from Saint Mary’s University with a Master’s of Social Work in April 2022 along with a Bachelor’s in Child Development and Family Studies in December 2019 at Minnesota State University – Mankato. From working in daycares with children and their families throughout college to interning under a school social worker and previously being employed at a local county as a social worker in Public Health, she is eager to continue and expand her work into therapy.

Nicole’s therapeutic approach is person-centered, strengths based, mindfulness, and problem-solving techniques correlated with cognitive behavioral therapy to address things such as life transitions, relationships, depression, anxiety, and grief. She has areas of interest in working with children, adolescents, and young adults but not limited to any ages or genders.

In her spare time and depending on the season, Nicole enjoys lake days during the summer, pumpkin patches and anything spooky related during the fall, and snowmobiling during the winter. She also enjoys country concerts, rodeos, and mini donuts.
