Sarah Muraki

Sarah Muraki, MS, is a graduate-level clinical intern pursuing the Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) credential. She joined Secure Base in 2025 and is currently completing her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Wisconsin-Superior. Sarah also holds a Master of Science in Neuroscience and Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience from Bryn Mawr College.

Sarah integrates neuroscience-informed and holistic approaches to counseling, helping clients explore the connections between mind, body, and emotional well-being. Her background in neuroscience strengthened her understanding of how the brain influences emotion, behavior, and healing. In addition, her lifelong involvement in horseback riding fostered an appreciation for movement, connection, and the restorative power of nature. These experiences shape her counseling perspective, blending scientific insight with an embodied and relational approach to care.

She has particular interests in working with children, adolescents, and young adults experiencing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, identity development, and life transitions. She is especially committed to supporting neurodiverse clients and providing affirming care for LGBTQ+ individuals. Her therapeutic style is collaborative, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, narrative, somatic, and strengths-based approaches to help clients build resilience, develop coping strategies, and create meaningful change.

Guided by values of empathy, inclusivity, and curiosity, Sarah strives to create a supportive environment where clients feel safe, heard, and empowered. She offers both in-person and telehealth sessions, allowing clients to access care in the way that feels most comfortable and convenient for them. Outside of her clinical work, Sarah enjoys spending time in nature, exercising, traveling, and caring for her cat.
