Gabriella Vargas, BSW
Gabriella Vargas, BSW, graduated from Luther College in May of 2023. She is currently in the process of completing her Master’s degree in Social Work at the University of Saint Mary’s. Gabriella is Mental Health & First Aid certified, as well as CPR certified. Gabriella speaks both English and Spanish.
Gabriella is a Master’s Level intern at Secure Base Counseling Center, starting in January of 2025. Gabriella has had many internship experiences, she has interned with the Northfield Hospital & Clinics, the Northfield Public Schools, and with Lutheran Social Services in The National Capital Area in Washington DC. Gabriella is currently also working at the Northfield Union of Youth (The Key) as the Mental Health Coordinator. She has experience working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, and homelessness. Gabriella is open to working with all ages, groups and individuals. Gabriella is interested in using empowerment theory, family systems and person centered approaches in her time here. Gabriella will be mainly stationed in Secure Base Counseling Center’s Northfield office.
Outside of work Gabriella is usually inside with a book, or out with friends and family when she isn’t working at the Key or doing schoolwork. Gabriella also really enjoys watching soccer games on tv or in person at the Minnesota Loons games.
